In existence since 1946, when Rosedale was still a bucolic community, the Rosedale Civic Association has continuously maintained its mission to preserve and enhance the quaint quality of life of this South-Eastern Queens suburban enclave within New York City boundaries, west of Nassau County.
Its
monthly meetings have been a regular forum for discussion of community
issues, including the appropriate sharing of critical information pertaining
to availability of services, effective ways to access those services,
and documentation of the needs in changing times.
The Association continuously interfaces with local, state and federal elected officials about the actual or potential community problems, or emerging issues as the population demographics change with the influx of the younger families with school-age children and the graying of the long-term residents.
To effectively achieve its mission and meet its updated goals and objectives,
the Association publishes a monthly Newsletter, sponsors and coordinates
the operation of the Rosedale Volunteer Civilian Patrol, supports multiple
youth activities directly or through other legitimate community organizations,
arranges for special conferences, seminars and/or workshops by knowledgeable
speakers and/or experts in relevant areas, including but not limited
to crime prevention, neighborhood preservation, block stabilization
and improvement, economic development, community beautification, and
enhancement of quality of life.
